Bhubaneswar:31/8/23 : Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik flagged off the first scheduled flight service to Utkela Airport in Kalahandi district at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. The 9-seater aircraft is operated by IndiaOne Air in the Bhubaneswar-Utkela route for which the travel time will be 1 hour 15 minutes.
With this, a long-standing demand for flight operation to Utkela Airport has been fulfilled. To increase air connectivity from state capital to other cities, Odisha Govt has started scheduled flight operations under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-UDAN on Bhubaneswar-Utkela (Kalahandi) route.

CM has always stressed transforming and developing each and every corner of Odisha. An airport at Utkela to connect with the capital city was a much-needed aspiration of the region to accelerate economic activity. The flight operation on this route will boost the industry and tourism sector.
