Lagna (propitious moment) for Nuakhai festival has been finalised for the Balangir district

Balangir:20/8/23: The Lagna (propitious moment) for the famous Nuakhai festival for the year 2023 has been finalised for the Balangir district.

As per reports, the Nabanna (newly harvested rice) will be offered to Maa Pataneswari, the presiding deity of Balangir district, between 10.28 am and 10.41 am on the occasion of Nuakhai which falls on September 20 this year.

Nuakhai, the agrarian festival, is celebrated across the western Odisha region with much gaiety.As per the Odia almanac, Nuakhai is celebrated on the fifth day of the lunar fortnight of the month of Bhadraba
