Odisha government has appointed chairperson for 14 new Special Development Councils

Bhubaneswar: 1/8/23: In a bid to preserve and protect the art, culture and heritage of tribals, the Odisha government has appointed chairperson for 14 new Special Development Councils. The appointments were made with the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

District wise newly appointed chairpersons are given below—–

Angul – Sadshib Nayak

Balasore – Madan Mohan Majhi

Balangir – Brajmohan Bishoi

Buddha – Bhagavan Kahanr

Dhenkanal –Surendra Hembram

Jajpur – Lambodar Munda

Kalahandi – Shivaji Majhi

Nuapada – Bhagatram Majhi

Sambalpur – Sobharam Pradhan

Devgarh – Panjia Bhoi

Bargarh – Sulila Bhoi

Jharsuguda – Mohan Kishan

Nayagarh – Janaki Dehuri

Ganjam – Bidyadhar Jani

Since 2017, special development councils have been functioning in nine districts. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik decided to expand it to 14 more districts, a release from CMO stated
