Bhubaneswar:8/6/23: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of Odisha government held its 118th meet today.
The authority chaired by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena granted approval to 18 industrial projects worth around Rs 3,457 crore in the state. The projects will generate employment opportunities for 14,436 people in Odisha, sources said
At least 10 out of these investment intents were received during the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022. This showcases the immense success of the conclave in attracting investments and reinforcing Odisha’s rank as second among the states in attracting investments in 2022-23 fiscal.
The state government is committed towards converting the investment intents into ground reality and in this endeavour, holds SLSWCA meeting at regular intervals to fast-track grounding of projects.
Projects spread across diverse sectors like metal downstream and ancillary, pharmaceutical, food processing, cement, textile & apparel, IT & ESDM, and agro processing received approvals in the 118th meeting of the SLSWCA.
The approved projects will be set up across various parts of the state including Jajpur, Khurda, Koraput, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Sonepur, Bolangir and Boudh districts.
The committee has given a go-ahead to nine projects in the metal sector, five projects in agro & food processing sector and one project each in textiles, cement, IT & ESDM, and pharmaceuticals sectors.
Odisha has been a leader in the mining and metallurgy sector owing to its natural resource advantage. This has been further leveraged by the state government to develop metal ecosystem in Odisha.
While Odisha remains the leader in the production of steel, stainless steel, alumina and aluminum, it is also emerging as the leader in the metal downstream and ancillary sector. This claim was further strengthened today, when the SLSWCA approved nine projects in the metal downstream and ancillary sector.
The projects of TYK Ceramics India Private Limited, Calderys India Refractories Limited, Shrijay Foils Limited, Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons Pvt Ltd, SMS India Pvt Ltd, Ferro Alloys Coporation Ltd, Indiano Spl Private Ltd, Rudramukhi Infracon Pvt Ltd, and Reliable Sponge Pvt Ltd were approved which aim to provide employment to more than 2,600 people of Odisha
Calderys India Refractories Limited which is an Indian subsidiary of Calderys headquartered in France intends to setup manufacturing for Acidic Refractory Bricks, Acidic Monolitics, Refractory Bricks, Steel Casting flux, and Precast Prefired Shaped Refractory Plant entailing an investment of Rs 500 crore.
TYK Corporation, who showed its investment intent during the Japan Roadshow of Odisha government have realized the same with their Indian subsidiary TYK Ceramics India Private Limited, is investing Rs 57 crore in Jajpur District to set up a 1020 MT High-end Refractory products plant.
The SLSWCA also approved the proposal of Toshali Cement Private Limited for expansion of their cement grinding capacity to 1.75 MTPA in Cuttack with an investment of Rs 525.46 crore.
In the Agro & Food Processing sector, the authority approved five projects which are expected to provide employment to more than 1,400 people of Odisha. The proposal of Abis Exports India Pvt Ltd includes the setting up of manufacturing unit for poultry feed in Badachana at Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 161.57 crore.
In the IT & ESDM sector, the committee gave a nod to a project by OgoEnergy India Private Limited with an investment of Rs 201 crore. The company proposes to set up a 1000MWh battery pack in Khurda district, which will provide employment opportunities to over 530 people of Odisha.
In the Pharmaceuticals sector, the committee gave a nod to a project by Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited with an investment of Rs 200 crore. The company proposes to set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, which will provide employment opportunities to over 680 people.
The SLSWCA also recommended 2 proposals of Indian Oil Corporation Limited & Toshali Cement Private Limited to High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA).
