Bhubaneswar:7/6/23: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief over the death of six labourers who were killed in a train accident at Jajpur Road station this afternoon.
The In a freak train mishap in Odisha’s Jajpur, six labourers were killedhas expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased labourers and announced an ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakhs each for the kin of the deceased.
The Chief Minister has ordered to provide proper treatment to the two people injured in the accident and wished them a speedy recovery.

According to the East Coast Railway, some contractual labourers engaged by a contractor for Railway Work had taken shelter under the stabled rake to get protection from Norwester near Jajpur Keonjar Road.
A monsoon Reserve Rake without Engine reserved at the sick line near Jajpur Keonjhar Road rolled on due to heavy thunderstorms, as a result of which, six persons were run over and two left injured.
The injured persons were taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital by Railways for their treatment, and the Divisional Railway Officials lead by DRM Khurda Road have rushed to the spot for enquiry.
