A Five-day National Workshop on Kui and Desia languages to be held at Central University of Odisha

Newdelhi:28/5/23:According to the new National Education Policy-2020 of the Central Government, on the purpose of speaking, reading, understanding and writing at the level of elementary education for the students, mainly Kui and Desia-speaking, in the states of Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand a five-day National Workshop for preparing the learning materials is going to be held at the Central University of Odisha from 29.05.2023 to 02.06.2023. The workshop will be jointly organised by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi; Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar and the Central University of Odisha, Koraput.

The main objective of the workshop is to provide learners and teachers with learning materials useful for oral language development, reading and writing skills development of ‘Kui’ or ‘Desia’ speaking learners. The workshop will be organized under the aegis of Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Hon’ble Director, NCERT and Prof. Chakradhar Tripathy, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Odisha and supervision of Prof. Basanta Kumar Panda, Director, Odia Classical Language Centre. On this occasion members Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Prof. Gopabandhu Mohanty, Dr. Parmanand Patel, Dr. Rajendra Padhi, Dr. Kapil Khemundu, Dr. Rudrani Mohanty, Dr. Govind Chandra Pendei, Suresh Khara, Sana Santa, Trinath Khara, Somnath Amanatya, Geetanjali Pujari, Narayan Majhi, Govind Kumjharia, Surendra Tanti and Shivshankar Patnaik will be present.
