4th state-level financial inclusion workshop of the Odisha state association for financial inclusion institutions was held

Bhubaneswar:15/2/23: Women in Odisha are managing their family requirements through working in Self-help groups (SHGs). Small-scale businesses started at an individual level are now designated as small enterprises. With the earrings from these small businesses women are now able to avail of home, education and renewable loans and participate in the overall growth of their families.

In the 4th state-level financial inclusion workshop of Odisha state association for financial inclusion institutions (OSAFII), held at a private hotel in Bhubaneswar, President Mr Divya Jyoti Patnaik has said that more than 70 RBI registered microfinance institutions, NBFCs, Small finance banks, NBFC MFIs are providing financial services to more than 43 lakhs women from 30 districts in Odisha.

Other members present at the occasion urged the State government to provide the required skills and technology to the women entrepreneurs of Odisha through various skill development institutions.

The workshop was chaired by the President of OSAFII, Mr Divya Jyoti Patnaik, and was accompanied by the CGM  of SBI Mr Chandra Sekhar Sharma, Convenor of SLBC Mr Gautam Patra, CGM  of small industries development Bank of India,( SIDBI) Dr Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD of  ESAF small finance bank, Mr K. Paul Thomas and founder of CYSD  Jagadananda.

Other members present at the occasion urged the State government to provide the required skill and technology to the women entrepreneurs of Odisha through various skill development institutions. All prominent present extensively discussed the role of digital literacy and OSAFII-related institutions towards empowering women’s communities.

In the afternoon session of the event state head of UNDP, Smt. Abha Mishra, regional head of DCB Bank Mr Satya Pradhan, Professor at Xavier University Mr Ramana and professor at KIIT University Mr Debashis Mohanty were present and dwelled upon women empowerment and a gamut of financial services.

The chief executive officer of OSAFII informed about the scheduled programs of the institution and Dr Alok Patnaik and Rakesh Meher expressed gratitude for their prominent presence at the occasion. 500 representatives of various institutions related to OSAFII from across all 30 districts of Odisha took part in the program.
