Queue system for darshan at the revered Lord Jagannath Temple will be implemented from September 15

Bhubaneswar:22/8/25: Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced today that the queue system for darshan at the revered Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri will be implemented starting from September 15.

The move aims at streamlining crowd management and ensuring a disciplined darshan experience for devotees, the minister said.

The queue system will be rolled out once the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee is reconstituted, expected by September 3 or 4. The committee’s first meeting will finalize arrangements, including the relocation of the Hundi from the Jagamohan area, the minister stated.

Harichandan assured that the temple administration is fully equipped to introduce the system, which is designed to enhance devotee convenience at the world famous shrine.

The delay in forming a new panel has drawn criticism from devotees and temple servitors, particularly over issues like the Ratna Bhandar inventory and the Ratha Jatra stampede earlier this year.
