Odisha Chief Minister Honours Police, Fire Services Personnel With Medals

Bhubaneswar:15/8/25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conferred President’s Medals to distinguished personnel across various departments, including police, fire, prison, and civil defence services, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. The awards ceremony recognised exceptional contributions and bravery.

Vigilance SP Saroj Kumar Samal and Constable Satyabadi Mallik were among the recipients of the President’s Medal for distinguished service. Eleven other officials also received medals for notable service in their respective fields.

Circle Jail Senior Superintendent Kuanr Marandi and Balasore District Jail Superintendent Suchitra Das received the President’s Medal for their commendable service in the prison services. Six police personnel were honoured with the President’s Medal for their bravery during anti-Maoist operations.

The Chief Minister also presented distinguished and commendable service medals to personnel from Fire Services, Civil Defence, and Home Guards, acknowledging their notable service. The ceremony was held to recognise the exceptional work of personnel across various departments.
