Babita Patra took charge as Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights

Bhubaneswar:11/8/25:Babita Patra took charge today as Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR).

She was joined by newly appointed members Kalpana Lenka, Chandana Das, Manasmita Khuntia, and Sujata Nayak.

The appointments were announced by the Odisha Government on August 5, marking a significant step in strengthening child rights advocacy and protection mechanisms across the state. The newly constituted team brings diverse experience and commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of children in Odisha.

The formal induction took place at the OSCPCR office in Bhubaneswar, where the members expressed their dedication to addressing child-related issues, promoting inclusive policies, and ensuring timely interventions in cases of child rights violations.

With this new leadership, OSCPCR is expected to intensify its outreach and monitoring efforts, working in close coordination with government departments, civil society organisations, and grassroots stakeholders.
