Dainik Jagran Announces the Narendra Mohan Smriti Sahitya Samman

· The Narendra Mohan Smriti Sahitya Samman will be conferred upon the best book of the year 2024, with a prize of ₹5,00,000 (5lakh).

· Authors of books featured in the Jagran Hindi Bestseller list will be honoured with the Dainik Jagran Kriti Samman, which carries a prize of ₹50,000.

New Delhi:9/8/25: India’s most widely read newspaper, Dainik Jagran, under its campaign ‘Hindi Hain Hum’, is launching the Narendra Mohan Smriti Sahitya Samman to promote the culture of book writing and reading. Under this, authors whose works have captured attention in 2024 based on readability, quality, and subject will be awarded the Narendra Mohan Smriti Sahitya Samman. This award will be given in memory of Narendra Mohan, the former Editor-in-Chief and author of Dainik Jagran. The award carries a prize of ₹ 500,000. Published works will be judged on the criteria of originality, readability, quality, and subject. The award will be decided by a special jury.

Dainik Jagran Kriti Samman

Dainik Jagran, a leading Hindi newspaper, has launched a groundbreaking campaign ‘Hindi Hain Hum’, to promote the Hindi language. As part of this initiative, the newspaper publishes a quarterly list of ‘Dainik Jagran Hindi Bestsellers’, categorized into fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and translation. This effort aims to bridge the gap between readers and books, and has been well-received in the Hindi literary world. The bestseller list will form the basis for three awards: Hindi Bestseller, Uttam mein sarvottam , and navankur, with a prize money of ₹ 50,000 for each category.

While announcing these awards, Basant Rathore, Senior Vice President of Brand and Strategy at Dainik Jagran, stated that the newspaper has always been dedicated to promoting the Hindi language. The initiative, Dainik Jagran Kriti Samman, aims to recognize and encourage exceptional writing in Hindi, particularly authors whose works make it to the bestseller list.

Publishers, authors, institutions, or anyone can submit their works for consideration. The deadline for submissions is 7th September 2025, and interested participants can find more information on the website jagranhindi. in.

Shri Narendra Mohan ji 

Narendra Mohan Ji had a profound commitment to India and its cultural heritage, evident in his widely read column ‘Vichar Pravah’ in Dainik Jagran. He wrote extensively on various subjects, including Indian culture, Hinduism, politics, corruption, defense, and strategic policy, with many of his works being translated into English. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to journalism and social service. As a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1996 to 2002, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party, he played an active role in parliamentary committees, including those on finance, telecommunications, and technology. He was also part of the advisory committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
