Odisha Govt plans slew of projects for Silver city Cuttack

Bhubaneswar:18/7/25: The state government has planned a slew of projects, including a mega convention centre and a new park, for Odisha’s Cuttack city to provide better civic amenities to the citizens.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi discussed issues about the development of Cuttack city and its surrounding areas with local MP Bhartruhari Mahatab at Lok Seva Bhawan in the capital city here today.

The state government has planned to construct a mega convention centre in the Silver City. Similarly, a vending zone near OMP Square and a new park in Press Chhak area of the city are among the projects likely to be executed by the state government.

Besides, the government is likely to prepare a master plan for Cuttack city to solve issues related to the drainage system, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement.

Apart from this, steps are being taken for the construction of a new barrage on Mahanadi River in Cuttack district and integrated development of Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das.

Moreover, the state government will initiate the process for the revival of Baramba Sugar Mill and Bhagatpur Cotton Mill in Cuttack district.

“The Chief Minister has asked the officials concerned to expedite the process for the execution of all these projects. The state government is committed to the development of Cuttack city and its nearby areas,” added the CMO.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries Department) Hemant Sharma, and Principal Secretary to CM Saswat Mishra, among others were present at the meeting
