Odisha  Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi On Swift Resolution Of Grievances

Bhubaneswar:19/5/25: Odisha  Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today held the 11th edition of the ‘People’s Chief Minister’ public grievance hearing program at the new Grievance Redressal Centre here reaffirming his government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the citizens. A significant number of people turned up, with 1,000 complainants having registered their names online to voice their issues.

The Chief Minister, along with six senior Ministers from his cabinet, personally listened to the problems and grievances presented by the attendees. Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary-level officers, were also present to manage the program and facilitate the process. Additional Chief Secretary Home, Satyabrata Sahu and PS to CM Manoj Kumar Sahu co-ordinated the Grievance Hearing.

Following the hearings, Chief Minister Shri Majhi assured that he would direct the concerned departmental ministers and secretaries to take prompt and appropriate action on the grievances received. Many citizens expressed their satisfaction after directly interacting with the Chief Minister and conveying their concerns. The Chief Minister’s reassuring words left a positive impression, reinforcing the perception of good governance.

Continuing his practice, Chief Minister Shri Majhi began his day by meeting with differently-abled and chronically ill individuals who were waiting outside the grievance room. Recognizing the challenges faced by those unable to access the single-window system and suffering from chronic ailments, he provided immediate financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Today, a total of ₹13.5 lakh was disbursed as compassionate aid to 14 individuals from various districts for their medical expenses.

Notable recipients included Santosh Biswal of Nayagarh, Bishnu Charan Sahu of Jajpur, Laxmidhar Sethi of Bhadrak, and Naveen Kumar Sethi of Keonjhar, each receiving ₹1 lakh or more.

Chief Minister Shri Majhi highlighted the growing trust of the people in the grievance redressal program. “People have increased their trust in the Chief Minister’s grievance redressal. They are coming to us with various problems. We are continuing this program to provide continuous justice to the people. Our government is continuously listening to the grievances of the people and taking steps to resolve them. Through this, help is being provided to the poor and helpless,” he stated. He also announced plans to extend the grievance program to the regional level in the coming days.

The Chief Minister also shared that out of the 10,234 grievances received up to the tenth round of the program, an impressive 8,713 grievances, representing 85 percent, have already been resolved, with the remaining cases currently under process.

Several key Ministers were present during the hearing, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra, Minister for Schools and Mass Education Nityanand Gand, Minister for Industries, Sampada Chandra Swain, Minister for Cooperatives Pradeep Bala Samanta, and Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia.

Senior bureaucrats, such as Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Satyabrat Sahu, and Additional Chief Secretary, Public Grievances and Public Administration, Surendra Kumar, were also present and played a crucial role in the smooth conduct of the day’s proceedings.

Today’s event underscores the state government’s commitment to proactively engage with the public and ensure the swift resolution of their grievances, fostering a stronger connection between the government and the people.
