Odisha government has announced the construction of a new greenfield airport in Paradip

Bhubaneswar:23/5/25:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during a key meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan, emphasized the vision to modernize Odisha’s air travel facilities to meet global standards.

In addition to the Paradip Airport, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the development of the much-anticipated Shri Jagannath Airport in Puri. The project is being prioritized to improve connectivity to the holy city and manage rising passenger demand.

As part of a broader strategy to strengthen aerial connectivity across the state, the government is planning to build heliports in 15 districts. Discussions also included the accelerated development of the Biju Patnaik Aviation Centre at the Birashole airstrip in Dhenkanal, with the Public Works Department appointed as the nodal agency for its implementation.
