Deputy CM Reviews OUAT Infrastructure Projects

Bhubaneswar:2/5/25: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo conducted a high-level review of ongoing construction works at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) during a meeting held at the conference hall of Krushi Bhavan. Law and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan was also present at the review meeting.

Several foundational and infrastructure development works are currently underway at OUAT. Recognized as a premier academic institution in Odisha, OUAT is undergoing major upgrades to transform it into a world-class university.

 

The development efforts aim to provide quality education supported by modern infrastructure and essential amenities for students. Deputy CM Singh Deo has directed that hostel construction and upgrade works must be completed before the commencement of the upcoming academic year.

Under the government’s prescribed norms, Law and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan advised the implementing agencies to construct multi-story residential hostels.

Presently, multiple projects under OUAT are in progress, including a 500-bed boys’ hostel, a 200-bed farmers’ hostel, a 500-seat new auditorium, a new administrative building, upgradation of 10 hostels dedicated for girl students, and a farmers’ training centre.

The new administrative building will be developed as an iconic structure, similar in grandeur to Bhubaneswar’s Krushi Bhavan. Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee presented a detailed report on the various works and assured full cooperation from the department.

The meeting was also attended by OUAT Vice Chancellor Dr. Prabhat Kumar Raul, CMD of Odisha Police Housing Corporation Soumendra Priyadarshi, and the Chief Engineer of the Works Department.
