Three-tier security system will be implemented during the third session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly

Bhubaneswar:12/2/25: Ahead of the third session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly, set to begin tomorrow, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania reviewed the security arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the proceedings.

The DGP announced that a comprehensive three-tier security system will be implemented during the session, with significant police deployment across key locations.

A total of 30 platoons of police personnel, including both male and female officers, will be stationed around the Assembly premises. Additionally, 100 senior officers will oversee the security arrangements on the ground. The Special Tactical Force has also been mobilized to handle any unforeseen situations, the DGP stated.

Highlighting the security measures, Khurania emphasized that massive deployment will be made at Lower PMG, a critical area near the Assembly. Traffic movement will also be affected, with several roads around the State Assembly being sealed to ensure safety and order.

The security review meeting was attended by senior police officials, including Twin City Commissioner of Police S. Dev Datta Singh, who discussed the finer details of the arrangements.

The third session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence tomorrow with an address by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, followed by the motion of thanks on the Governor’s speech. This Budget Session, which will span 28 business days, is scheduled to continue until April 5.

The elaborate security measures reflect the administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order during the crucial legislative proceedings, ensuring a safe environment for lawmakers and staff alike.
