IIT Bhubaneswar is organising visit of 45 Odia students to Maharashtra

Bhubaneswar:15/10/24:Indian Institute of Technology, as part of the Yuva Sangam (Phase-V), is organising the visit of students of Odisha to Maharashtra in December 2024. Yuva Sangam (Phase-V) has been planned for November and December 2024, which envisages the participation of youngsters from 20 States and UTs of India in enriching educational cum cultural tours. IIT Bhubaneswar is entrusted responsibility of the nodal institutes from Odisha to conduct the tour.

India is a nation with one of the youngest populations in the world, the initiative of ‘Yuva Sangam’ under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat has been conceptualized to strengthen people-to-people connections and build empathy among youth across the nation. Yuva Sangam focuses on conducting educational cum cultural exposure tours of the youths comprising mainly of students studying in Higher Educational institutions & some off-campus youngsters from across the country to various States/Union Territories of India. It will provide the selected youths with an immersive experience of eclectic facets of life, development landmarks, recent achievements and a youth connect in the host State/Union Territory. During their visits, the youth will get multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), Prodyogik (Technology).

Under the previous four phases of Yuva Sangam, more than 5000 students have visited different states and UTs, under the coordination of different educational institutes in the country. The participants have gained invaluable insights and experiences that have exemplified the essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.

Informing about the programme, Prof. Rajesh Roshan Dash, Dean-Student Affairs of the Institute said that IIT Bhubaneswar will select 45 Odia UG and PG students from all over Odisha having educational backgrounds in humanities, science, engineering, management, law, etc. IIT Bhubaneswar will coordinate their travel to Maharashtra in the first week of December 2024, where IIM Mumbai will host the Odisha students for their visit. Similarly, a contingent of 45 Youths from Maharashtra will visit Odisha, which will be hosted by IIT Bhubaneswar. Registration for the same is open till 21st October 2024. IIT Bhubaneswar expects the wholehearted participation of colleges/universities from Odisha to encourage their students for participate in the initiative of Govt, of India i.e. Yuva Sangam Phase V.
