18TH HOME & DÉCOR EXHIBITION ANDINDIA INTERNATIONAL MEGA TRADE FAIR 2023 KICKSTARTS

Bhubaneswar, 25^th February 2023:18^th edition of “HOME & DECOR” 2023 and IIMT 2023 (India International Mega Trade Fair) kickstarts from today at Janta Maidan, Bhubaneswar. This Fairs will continue till 6th March 2023

The Exhibition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister, Housing & Urban Development, Smt. Usha Devi in the august presence of the “Guest of Honour”Shree Ananta Narayan Jena, MLA (Central), Bhubaneswar, Shree Sushanta Kumar Rout, MLA (North), Bhubaneswar, Smt. Sulochana Dash, Mayor, BMC, Bhubaneswar, Shree Chandrasekhar Sharma, CGM, SBI, Bhubaneswar Circle.

Inaugurating the Expo, Hon’ble Minister, Housing & Urban Development, Smt. Usha Devi, said, Real Estate Sector is booming with the growth of the urban development under the able leadership of our Honorable Chief Minister Shree Naveen Pattnaik. CREDAI Bhubaneswar Foundation helps the industry for such growth. I wish all success for the expo.

Speaking on this occasion, Smt. Sulochana Dash, Mayor, BMC, Bhubaneswar, said, It’s a great platform to all the developers and the people of Odisha. In Eastern India, Bhubaneswar is now considered as the best hub for Health, Education, IT, Business, Sports etc. In the recent budget our Govt has allocated 700 Cr for the urban development. Major part of the fund will be utilized for infrastructure development. I hope the RERA hurdle raised by the association will be sorted out soon.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Pradipta Kumar Biswasroy, President, CREDAI Bhubaneswar, said, we are happy to organize such expo in Bhubaneswar. The Real estate business volume at Bhubaneswar even now is not that big in comparison to type-II & III cities in other parts of India, so we are hopeful for the vast scope lies before us. Our state Govt over the years had also brought number of such reforms in real estate policies, smoothen the process for which we could rise to the present stage. Even then honestly to say that there exist a lot more lapses in the system, which are yet to be attended by the Govt. We have been pursuing consistently with the Govt. The list of problems are more. But I would like to focus on a very important issue & put it here for the knowledge of our Govt. At present in the industry, the burning problem is about the anomalies or we should say the inconsistent elements in the ORERA rule. Apartment owners act & Rule, as a result the registration of the conveyance deed as well as “Agreement to sale” as per RERA were held up quite for long period stretching over for 7 to 8 months in the year 2022. In addition to this there was also a conflicting interpretation regarding the Completion Certificate and the Occupancy Certificate, all of which in our view the Govt. has not taken due care at the appropriate time to ease out the stalemate. Even now the issue is still glowing. Hence my earnest request to the Govt., that let the mismatch be wiped out as soon as possible by the Govt. allowing the industry to move hassle free

The exhibition has 10 number of air-conditioned hangers to accommodate all the participants to display their product along with one cafeteria to refresh the visitors. Exhibitors from 9 Countries and 16 states exhibiting their products in this expo.

The biggest hanger is dedicated for the real-estate operators (builders) to display their products located in various parts of Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack, which comprises the completed housing -projects, ongoing projects as well as forthcoming projects. In principle all the displayed projects are ORERA registered to will the confidence of the buyers.

A good number of about 72 (seventy two) builders have participated displaying their homes/ apartments. Next to them the Home Financers like SBI, ICICI and such other are also making themselves present in this same hanger to explain about easy home loan procedure and loan amount etc. In addition to this allied products on real-estate, home appliances, life style items, interior decoration items and modern furniture etc. are also well displayed in all neighboring hangers.

Exhibitors from other countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Dubai, Iran, Malayasia, Thailand and Egypt are the partners to the International Mega Trade Fair. Indian State Partners are from Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan and Jharkhand with Odisha as the host Partner.
