He even shared a photograph of himself looking at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s picture.

“Today I am starting the shooting of Marathi film ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Sat’ and I am lucky to be able to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji. I will do my best by taking inspiration from her life and blessing of Mother Jijau! Keep your blessings on us,” he said while sharing the image on Instagram.

In another post, the actor revealed his full get-up as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in costume on set. The clip shows Akshay walking and ‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani’ song playing in the background. He has also captioned his post, ‘Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji’.

Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat is a Marathi period drama that is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji and will feature an ensemble cast consisting of Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde.

The movie, produced by Vaseem Qureshi, is expected to release in cinemas on Diwali 2023 in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar may well be returning to the ‘Hera Pheri’ universe, reported IANS. Earlier, it was widely reported in the media that the superstar had left the franchise after the film’s producer and he could not reach a common ground.

Following Akshay’s exit, Kartik Aaryan, who delivered superhit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ earlier this year, was brought into the film – a development which was confirmed by the film’s very own Babu bhaiyya – Paresh Rawal on Twitter.
