To make the country strong, we need to make our tribal communities stronger: Arjun Ram Meghwal

Bhubaneswar:16/11/22:In order to make the country strong, we need to first make our tribal communities stronger, said Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal while addressing a huge gathering of 30,000 tribal students during the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas Celebration at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar yesterday.

Attending the event as the Chief Guest, Shri Meghwal recalled the invaluable contribution of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in the freedom struggle of the country and thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for taking the decision to start celebrating Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas from last year.

“The contribution of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in the awakening of the tribal society is incomparable. He had made valiant efforts, fought bravely against the colonial rulers and proved that the tribal people are an integral part of our system. We need to take lessons from him and continue to empower our tribal communities so as to empower our country,” Shri Meghwal said.

The event today was also graced by Shri Jagannath Saraka, Minister for ST and SC Development Department, Government of Odisha. Smt Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture also joined the celebration and proposed to the administration of KISS Bhubaneswar to begin an All India Tribal Sporting event.
