Mo School Abhiyan: Executive council approved proposals worth ₹52.72 crore of 27 districts

Bhubaneswar 9/11/22:: The 37th Executive Council Meeting of Mo School Abhiyan was held on Wednesday under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Aswathy S., Commissioner-cum-Secretary, S&ME Dept. The council approved proposals worth ₹52.72 crore of 27 districts.  As many as 45,388 alumni have joined hands with Mo School Abhiyan in the last one month and have connected funds worth ₹12.56 crore for the holistic development of their alma mater. Mo School Abhiyan has received grants worth ₹5 crore from various CSR funds. Coupled with the donors’ contribution, CSR funds and a 2X matching grant from the state govt., the Executive Council has approved projects worth ₹52.72 crore which will be availed in the development of the 5146 primary, upper primary and high schools across the state. The alumni have contributed ₹2.44 crore in Balasore, ₹2.02 crores in Jajpur, ₹71.29 lakhs in Sambalpur, ₹60.32 lakhs in Bhadrak and ₹54.62 lakhs in Bolangir districts respectively. Till date, 7.51 lakhs alumni have been connected with Mo School Abhiyan.

After the successful inclusion of all schools under ST & SC Development Department, the Executive Council has received a proposal for inclusion of special schools under the ambit of Mo School. The Council has decided to have a detailed discussion with the officials of the SSEPD department for the final way out. The inclusion will contribute towards holistic development of students with disabilities. With the help of alumni members, Mo School Abhiyan has accelerated service volunteering in all 30 districts with an aim to inspire and aspire the young generation through their skills, expertise and interest. Mo School team has conducted alumni meetings in 298 blocks of 30 districts in order to reach out to a greater number of alumni across the state.Other members present in the meeting were State Project Director- OSEPA and Member Secretary- Mo School, Additional Secretary, S&ME Dept., Financial Advisor, S&ME Dept., Director, Secondary Education, Director, Elementary Education, Director, TE & SCERT, COO, Mo School and OSD, Mo Schoo
