Bhubaneswar:22/10/22: Odia film-maker Anupam Patnaik’s upcoming movie ‘Pratikshya’ has made it to the list of 25 feature films that would be screened at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) scheduled from November 20 to 28 in Goa.
As per media reports, a total of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films will be screened at IFFI this year. Shortlisted under the feature films category, ‘Pratikshya’ has made it as the only Odia movie to be screened at the IFFI. This apart, the critically acclaimed Tamil movie ‘Jai Bhim’ by T. J. Gnanavel, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s ‘Kashmir Files’ and SS Rajamouli’s RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) will also be screened under the feature films category at the film festival.
‘Pratikshya’ is an Amiya Patnaik production. The movie will be starring actors Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Barsha Patnaik, Sreela Tripathy, Roopambika Nayak, Susil Mishra, Abakash Mishra and Sidhant Mohapatra. The screenplay and dialogue of the movie are written by Roshan Bisoi. Deepak Kumar is the cinematographer while credits for editing go to the late Deven Mishra.‘Pratikshya’ is based on a short story penned by Eminent writer Gourhari Das.
The music and background score of the movie is helmed by Ankesh-Ashish. Durga Madhab Panda and Priyaranjan Sahoo have penned the lyrics. Popular singers Ashish Pradhan, Humane Sagar, Biswajit Mahapatra, and Bivash Rath will lend voices to several songs in the upcoming movie.
‘Pratikshya’ narrates the life of an unemployed graduate who struggles with dilemma of securing a government job to save his family after they meet with a medical crisis. Apart from the pivotal roles by Dipanwit, Barsha and Choudhury Jayprakash Das, the movie will feature actor Sidhant Mohapatra in a ‘very special role
