Bollywood actor Sonu Sood held a meeting with chief minister Naveen Patnaik in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: 28/5/22:Bollywood actor Sonu Sood held a meeting with chief minister Naveen Patnaik in Odisha capital on Saturday.

According to sources, the action hero of Bollywood made a courtesy call on the chief minister at the latter’s residence Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar.

Naveen presented a jersey of Hockey India to Sonu on the occasion. Secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian was also present during the meeting.

It may be noted that the actor had earned the appreciation of the chief minister after he airlifted 177 girls return to their home in Odisha during lockdown due to COVID pandemic in May 2020. Sonu, who was helping stranded migrants return to their states at the time, came to Odia girls stuck in Kerala and sent them home.

Expressing his gratitude to Sonu on Twitter, Naveen said, “Thank Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for coming forward to help Odisha girls, stranded in Kerala during nationwide COVID19 lockdown, to reach home safe. His humanitarian gesture is indeed commendable.”

Sonu’s humble reply to the chief minister had gone viral on the social media. “Thank you so much for your encouraging words sir. I felt it was my duty to get our stranded sisters back to their homes. Will continue to support people struck anywhere in our country,” the actor tweeted.
