Odisha CM  approved a master plan for the development of Odisha University of Technology & Research

Bhubaneswar:10/5/22 Odisha CM  approved a master plan for the development of Odisha University of Technology & Research (OUTR), which will be transformed like IIM, IIT & NIT with the development of infrastructure and human resources.
Odisha Govt plans to spend ₹1,500 Cr in three years while ₹1,000 Cr is to be spent in the first year alone. While 4600 students are currently studying at OUTR, it will be developed in the model of IIT, so that 10,000 students will get the opportunity to study at OUTR in the next 5 years.
CM interacted with students, and faculties and advised them to aspire for excellence in every vocation they opt to realise the dreams of the nation. CM emphasised on curriculum on new-age technologies, research, quality education and fostering of start-up culture.
With 400 students currently studying at OUTR, it will be developed within the IIT framework so that 10,000 students will be able to study in the next five years. Today, Chief Minister Shri Patnaik reviewed the infrastructure, management, and teaching of OUTR. The Chief Minister also suggested that the university be made a leading institution in the field of technical education and research. The Chief Minister also emphasized the quality of education and research

In addition, teaching and research will be carried out in partnership with universities in the country and abroad. Incubation Centers will also be developed in collaboration with various leading industrialists to encourage Startup culture among entrepreneurs and develop entrepreneurial spirit among them. Special attention will be paid to how new patents and intellectual property rights can be obtained with research within universities.
