Bhubaneswar:3/5/22::Eminent novelist and Jnanpith winner, Padmabhushan Dr. Pratibha Ray has inaugurated”Black Eagle Books Intellect Center” at Plot no. 1294(P), CRP Square, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar-751012 on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 on the auspicious day of Akhi trititya.  . Eminent writers Dr. Gourahari Das and Prof. Jatin Nayak have graced the occasion as guests of honor.

Black Eagle Books is a nonprofit publishing endeavor to propagate Odia literature globally. It was established in April 2019 in Dublin, Ohio, USA. So far, this publication has published over 230 titles in different languages. The major goals of this publication house are to make Odia books available globally, provide a platform to diaspora authors and authors not accessible to mainstream publishers, revive valuable old books which have been out of print, carry out translation projects and make those available globally, educate, inspire and support writers in various ways, etc. Books published by BEB are available worldwide and never out of print as we use the latest technology in the publishing process. AlsoBlack Eagle Books have filed the registration for its India operation – and Books in India which will be received in a couple of weeks.

BEB Intellect Center is an 800-square-foot air-conditioned hall divided into two parts. In one part, books (ours and other publishers who collaborate with us) will be exhibited. A booklover can walk around and have a look and feel of the books before buying. This section has dedicated spaces for authors whose all books are available with us so that the reader has a one-stop shop for an author.

In the other part, there are 26 chairs for the audience and 4 chairs for guests. This can be used for different literary activities like book release, meeting the author, group discussions, brainstorming sessions, poetry/story readings, book signing programs, workshops, etc. Situated in a convenient location (1 min walk from CRP square behind Anna restaurant) this facility would be very helpful for readers/writers.

Ashok Palit has completed his graduation from Upendranath College Soro, Balasore and post graduation from Utkal University in Odia Language and literture.. He has also carved out a niche for himself as a scribe of eminence after joining the profession in 1988. He is also an independent media production professional. He brings loads of experience to Advanced Media, Ashok Palit as a cineaste has been active in film criticism for over three decades. As a film society activist, he soared to eminence for his profound commitment to the art film appreciation and aesthetics of cinema. His mode of discourse is often erudite but always lucid and comprehensible marked by a perfect acumen so rare in the field. A film aesthete with an immense fond of critical sensibilities, he wrote about growth and development of odia cinema in New Indian Express, The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Asian Age and Screen. He has been working as an Editor for Cine Samaya from 2002-2004.. He had made solid contribution on cinema in many odia Dailies and weekly such as Samaj, Prajatantra, Dharatri, Samaya, Satabadi, and weekly Samaya.
