Odia NITian  Omm Priyadarshi Chhotaray has clicked Pradhan Mantri Young Dynamic Versatile Author mentorship-2021

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Odia NITian  Omm Priyadarshi Chhotaray has clicked Pradhan Mantri Young Dynamic Versatile Author(PM- YUVA) mentorship-2021, for his historical fiction on the valiant Paikas of Odisha.

His ‘Paika: Jana, Akhyana O Andolan’ which literally means, factual legends on the Paika Rebellion in Odisha is going to be published by the National Book Trust(NBT), a unit of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Scrutinized among the 42,000 manuscripts sponsored by ace authors and litterateurs from across the nation, Omm has bagged one of the mentorships among the 75 finalists.

According to the grooming Techie-turned-Author Omm, ‘Paika: Jana, Akhyana O Andolan’is a manifold of the glorious history of the Paika heroes of Odisha who contributed a lot to the Indian struggle of Independence and the biggest war against British Colonialism.

The elements of the documents will assemble all the facts, fiction, and historical phenomenon of Odia Paikas from the early nineteenth century till the first dawn of Indian Independence.

Omm who is a Public policy enthusiast in his public life after having a degree from NIT Rourkela, and a grooming Research Scholar of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj(NIRDPR), Hyderabad by profession, is now incubating new historical findings in view of his cultural pursuit. Within a short interval, he will submit the whole manuscript with the NBT, which will come out with the initiatives of the Union Ministry of Culture and Education.

Expressing pleasure over the achievement, Omm Said, “Being a legacy of Khordha Paikas and an Akhada(martial art) performer, it really gives me a sense of valor to write about the  heroic race, their dedications and supreme sacrifices, which ignited the very first fight against the British rule.”

“PM YUVA finalist is the most surprise of this year for me, which I had eagerly waited for to come. Hopefully, we could be availing the opportunity to attain various National & International Literature events too amid this COVID resurgence”, he added.
