Konark:1/12/21: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the 32nd edition of the Konark Festival here today through virtual mode.
Later, the cultural evening was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi at the Konark Natya Mandap at the foot of the famous Konark temple.
In the first session of the first evening of the Konark Utsav, Padma Shri Madhvi Mudgal and the team from New Delhi performed Odissi.
On an inaugural evening, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tushar Kanti Behera, Advisor to CM N Balakrishnan, Superintendant of ASI Odisha Circle Arun Mallik joined the event as guests of honour.
Like last year, this year too amid Covid restrictions only one-third of spectators have been allowed in the open-air auditorium.
The magical performances from dancers, singers, and musicians enthralled the audience at the open-air theatre with the famous Sun Temple in the background. The musical environment in and around the vicinity enlivened the gloomy atmosphere of the pandemic.
The globally famed Konark Festival organized by the state government will continue till December 5 which will enthrall reverberated sounds of classical music and stellar performances of dancers each evening.
