Dharmendra Pradhan has sought the personal intervention of Union Civil Aviation Minister approval for commencement of flight operation from Dubai to Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:25/11/21: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought the personal intervention of his ministerial colleague Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in expediting approval for commencement of flight operation from Dubai to Bhubaneswar and back.

Pradhan has written a letter to Scindia in this connection enclosing a request from the Odia Society UAE, wherein they have requested for introduction of a daily flight from Dubai-Bhubaneswar and back.

The Union Education Minister has pointed out that more than 10,000 Odia people live in UAE and there has been a long-standing demand for a direct flight to Dubai-Bhubaneswar and vice-versa.

“A direct Dubai-Bhubaneswar flight shall be the gateway for Odia people for international travel and make it convenient for Odias living all over the world to connect to Odisha better and shall be instrumental to promote international tourism in the state including medical tourism,” Pradhan explained.

In Dubai Expo 2021, various traders, businesspersons and artists from Odisha are taking part and travel has become essential, he added.

Pradhan further pointed out that air communication between these cities will give a boost to state economy through trade of artefacts, handlooms and farm produce etc.
