Newdelhi:24/11/21: Senior Journalist Manoranjan Mishra received the Odisha Journalism Award by Pallibani Mission at a ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday. Mishra, the Editor of Kanak News was given the award by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
On the occasion, Pradhan said that Journalists play a pivotal role in building a constructive society that strengthens democracy. “There is no difference between Regional Journalists and National Journalists. All of them together contribute equally in building the society,” Pradhan said.
Editor of Utkal Mail Pitabas Mishra and Deputy Resident Editor of The New Indian Express Siba Kumar Mohanty was also conferred with the Odisha Journalism Award on the occasion. Editor of Odisha Bytes Sandeep Mishra, Professor, Department of Mass Communication, Prof Mihir Ranjan Patra, and Senior Cameraperson of OTV Gopal Prasad Burma also received the award on the 3rd Edition of the Award ceremony.
Senior Advisor of I&B Ministry Kanchan Gupta, Senior Journalist Rashid Kidwai and Political Affairs Editor of Hindustan Times Sunetra Choudhury joined the ceremony as Speakers.
Pallibani Mission’s President Ramachandra Nath spoke about the objectives of the mission in the opening address. On the occasion, a special edition of Pallibani, the only Odia journal published from Delhi was launched.
Among others, noted Poet Amarendra Khatua, poet Kulamani Biswal, Administrator Srideb Nanda, and Pallibani Mission Secretary Nabajyoti Das also spoke on the occasion.
