Padma Shri, tribal singer Purnamasi Jani met Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra

Bhubaneswar:10/11/21: A day after she was conferred with the Padma Shri, tribal singer from Kandhamal district Purnamasi Jani met Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra at the Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday.

It was a prestigious moment for the State and Kandhamal district when Purnamasi Jani, received the prestigious Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday.

Jani has not received any formal education. The 76-year-old divine poetess popularly knowns as Tadisaru Bai has never repeated any of her songs or poems.

She is a tribal singer and social activist from Kandhamal. Jani has sung thousands of songs promoting social causes in Odia, Kui and Sanskrit for over six decades.
