Akshay Parija’s Productions short film ‘Paika Bidroha’ has Official selected for 4th South Asian Short Film Festival

Bhubaneswar:7/11/22021:Paika Bidroha’ (Paika Rebellion) — the first war of independence in the Indian subcontinent. It was an armed rebellion against the British East India Company’s rule in 1817, much before the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.

Based on the tumultuous event, a short film ‘Paika Bidroha’ has been officially selected in the 4th South Asian Short Film Festival in the Panorama Documentary section, which is going to be held at Nandan, the film center in Kolkata from 15 to 22 November 2021 this is the only Odia documentary inducted in this prestigious festival.(https://www.sasff.online/official-selection-sasff-2021)

‘Paika Bidroha’ stars  Manoj Mishra as Jayee Rajaguru and Samaresh Routray as the legendary Buxi Jagabandhu, the film by Akshay Parija Productions brilliantly portrays the great history of Odia Paikas. They were also subjected to extortion and oppression at the hands of the company government and its servants. brilliantly portrays the great history of Odia Paikas. While Nischay Rout and Anuj Tyagi have directed the film, Hara Prasad Das has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues. The costumes of this periodic film were designed by the film’s co-producer, Barnali Rath. Paika Bidroha’ had earlier created a buzz by winning four State Film Awards for 2018 — Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing as well as the Best Film by Jury.. ‘Paika Bidroha’ has won the special jury award at the 9th Mumbai International Short Film Festival 2020.
