Berhampur city of Ganjam district issued fresh guidelines for Durga Puja 2021 celebrations

Berhampur:5/10/21: The civic body of Berhampur city of Ganjam district-issued fresh guidelines for Durga Puja 2021 celebrations.

The guidelines are:

-Congregation (puja/cultural) is not allowed

-The height of the Durga idol has been capped at 4-ft for all the puja pandals and mandaps.

-Not more than 5 persons allowed in pandal

-Navratri Dandia night celebration is not allowed

-Committee members are to be held responsible in case of violation.

The authorities have also warned of action if anyone is found violating the Covid-related guidelines.

There will be no public participation and no grand immersion ceremony. Moreover, the administration has imposed restrictions on the organisation of cultural programmes and other events.

The administration imposed restrictions in view of the pandemic situation, the official said.

Besides, there is a possibility of breach of peace and tranquility and harm to public health, the official said.
