Malkangiri:23/9/21: Security forces have busted a Maoist camp after an exchange of fire near Kirmiti Reserve Forest area under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district on September 21, informed police on Thursday.
Reportedly, based on specific intelligence about the movement of armed Maoist cadres for carrying out anti-national and subversie activities, an operation involving teams of SOG, DVF of Odisha Police, and BSF had been launched in Mathili police limits of the district.
During this operation, an exchange of fire took place near Kirmiti Reserve Forest area between the security forces and armed Maoist cadres on September 21 (Tuesday). However, the Maoists managed to flee taking advantage of the terrain.
During subsequent search operation, following ammunitions and other articles were recovered from the spot.
