Bhubaneswar:7/9/21: Reviewing the COVID19 situation in the State, CM Shri Naveen Patnaik advised all to be more careful during the festival season and follow Covid guidelines. CM said that everyone’s responsible behavior will be crucial in controlling the possible third wave.
CM directed officials to form special teams to conduct surprise checks on educational institutions on a regular basis to ensure that OVID19 is followed strictly. CM is also directed to ensure strict monitoring of daily markets, religious institutions, health institutions, and offices.
CM advised continuing testing of high-risk groups including health workers, school-going children, pregnant women, Govt employees, and police personnel, on a regular basis. CM directed all District Collectors to ensure that everyone took two doses of the Covid vaccine. Urging everyone to wear masks, wash hands, maintain social distancing and avoid crowded areas, CM cautioned everyone to remain on high alert and not let their guards down as Covid is still
Similarly, special attention needs to be given to markets, religious institutions, and healthcare facilities for strict adherence to COVID guidelines. Healthcare workers, school-going children, pregnant women, Government employees,s and police personnel belong to the high-risk groups. So, their tests should be conducted at frequent intervals, he added.

The officials need to have a close watch on the rapid infection rate of the Delta variant. Micro containment zones should be demarcated by the local administration, as and when necessary.

The festival season is approaching closer which means congregation and celebrations. However, we need to be more careful during this season. The infection rate surged in Kerala after Onam, we must take a lesson from this instance, and be very watchful over the next couple of months, said Naveen.

Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Development Commissioner PK Jena, Additional CS (Health) PK Mohapatra, DG Police Abhay and senior officials were present at the meeting which was coordinated by Secretary to CM (5T), VK Pandian. Among others, Secretaries of different Departments also attended the meeting
