Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid down a 10-point action agenda for Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas

Bhubaneswar: 5/9/21: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid down a 10-point action agenda for Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) in the State.

As per the action plan, all OAVs will be green campus and comply with net-zero emission standards by 2025.

OAVs will be talent centers and will get at least one student to crack one of the national entrance examinations each year.

All OAVs will conduct at least one blood donation camp in collaboration with Rotary and Lions’ Club this year, subject to Covid Rules and regulations by Government.

OAVs will conduct a mock UN session to highlight global issues and interconnections in sustainable climate planning.

OAVians will carry out community service of “each one teach one” to gain practical experience in the field of education.

Also, skilling in schooling will be promoted for the needy.

The Chief Minister added each OAV will have a 10-year vision document/roadmap highlighting what it will achieve in 10 years time frame.

Every OAV will have an interactive and dynamic web page which will be a source of learning and expression for the teaching and student community.

OAVs will publish a monthly newsletter namely OAVS NEWS/OAVians. Also, the schools will promote Yoga, Sports, Games and healthy living.

The school will admit 1000 students with 500 each for Classes XI and XII. They will be selected from 314 Adarsha Vidyalayas in the state. It will have 26 classrooms, 8 science laboratories, two girls’ hostels and equal number of boys’ hostels, 22 teachers’ quarters and 8 guest houses.

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash the school would start functioning from a rented accommodation from the current academic session and its building will be completed by 2022.

443 Teachers Appointed

At an official function attended by the chief minister on the day, appointment letters were issued to 443 teachers for Adarsha Vidyalayas.

Addressing the newly appointed teachers, Naveen said he aims at making quality education available to meritorious students of rural and semi-urban areas. The Adarsha Vidyalayas should emerge as ideal schools in the country, he added.

10-Point Programme

On this occasion, the chief minister set a 10-point target for the students of Adarsha Vidyalayas. These include participation in blood donation, protection of the environment, literacy campaigns, and healthy lifestyles.
