Odisha Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed State Institute For Empowerment Of Persons With Disabilities

Bhubaneswar:4/9/21:  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the newly constructed State Institute For Empowerment Of Persons With Disabilities (SIEP) at Pokhariput here.

The SIEP built by the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) at an expenditure of Rs 19 crore has test facilities for all types of disabilities, motion training, pre-school education, training facilities for painting, dance & music, vocational education and facilities for various types of consultations, said an official press release.

The SIEP has accommodation facilities for 100 children with disabilities up to the age of 18 years, the release added.

The release stated that guardians of children with disabilities can also stay here while their children undergo treatment.

The Institute is equipped with a variety of high-quality equipment, it added.

Among others, Minister SSEPD Ashok Chandra Panda and senior officers were present.
