Black Eagle Books First Book Award 2021 goes to Manas Panda for his Odia short story collection “Eka Mayurapuchhara Kahani”

Ohio:7/8/21:Black Eagle First Book Award was initiated in 2019 to encourage authors to publish their books. This award is given to the first manuscript of the author, in other words, an author who has never published a book before. The award for the year 2021 is” awarded to Manas Panda for his Odia short story collection “Eka Mayurapuchhara Kahani. This is a collection of eighteen short stories of different tastes & flavours, written by young Journo & Feature writer Manas Panda. Mr. Panda, as a distinguished Journalist, has carved a niche for himself in Odisha. But, apart from reporting & column writing, he has expressed his creativity & passion successfully in the form of short stories too. He has written more than twenty short stories till date, most of them published in magazines of repute. In “Eka Mayurapuchhara Kahani ”, one can find the flavour of love intermingled with the pain of heartbreak; nostalgic attitude mixed with difficulties of life; raga of romance wrapped in fire of frustration. The journey of life is just like the journey of an ever-flowing stream, passing through mountains, rocks, valleys, plains, and countless ups & downs. Similarly, this precious collection of masterpiece tales, provides the readers with uncommon joys & sorrows of life, filled with love, hatred, compassion, and commotions, creating an undisturbed attachment.

Black Eagle Books First Book Award was given to Niharika Mallick for her translation anthology “Adhunika Hindi Galpamala” in 2019 and to Rabi Satpathy for his poetry collection “Abujha Pakshira Gita” in 2020. Black Eagle Books is a nonprofit publishing endeavor to propagate Indian literature worldwide. Based in Dublin, Ohio, USA, Black Eagle Books has published 180 books since its inception in April 2019. Its books are available worldwide and never goes out-of-print.

He has also carved out a niche for himself as a scribe of eminence after joining the profession in 1988. He is also an independent media production professional. He brings loads of experience to Advanced Media, Ashok Palit as a cineaste has been active in film criticism for over three decades. As a film society activist, he soared to eminence for his profound commitment to the art film appreciation and aesthetics of cinema. A film aesthete with an immense fond of critical sensibilities, he wrote about growth and development of odia cinema in New Indian Express, The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Asian Age and Screen. He had made solid contribution on cinema in many odia Dailies and weekly such as Samaj, Prajatantra, Dharatri, Samaya, Satabadi, and weekly Samaya.
