Ohio:6/8/21: Black Eagle Books (BEB), a US-based publication house is dedicated to facilitating the propagation and preservation of Odia/Indian literature globally. BEB has been actively publishing and distributing Odia/Indian books since April 2019. A total number of 180 titles have been published till date. To take this effort to the next level, BEB has decided to exhibit its books in USA/Canada so that the international readers would be connected with Odia/Indian literature and culture in a better way.
Satya Pattanaik, Director, BEB informed that the first book exhibition has been scheduled to be held on Saturday, 7th August from 9 AM to 5.30 PM at Columbus Metropolitan Library, Dublin branch, Ohio. Columbus Metropolitan Library, a prestigious institution has acquired many BEB books in the past. Dublin bench is a newly renovated beautiful building and is heavily used by readers.
Four professors from Ohio State University will grace the occasion as the Guests of Honour:
Prof. Bishun Dev Pandey, Prof. Dhabaleswar Panda, Prof. Ila Nagar Ila Nagar, and Prof. Vladimir Steffel.
In the inaugural function, the guests will deliberate upon the importance of books in society building from a cross-culture and diaspora perspective. On this occasion, a book by an eminent writer, Jnanpith laureate Pratibha Ray will be released: “After the Deluge” by Pratibha Ray (translation of Magnamati (Odia) by Prafulla Kumar Mohanty}
Pattanaik also said that apart from the books published by Black Eagle Books, many Odia books will be displayed in the exhibition. “We have invited the local Indian community here to visit the exhibition. We are sure that many floating American readers would visit the exhibition. We have lined up such exhibitions in Detroit, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington DC areas too, and will slowly cover all 50 states of the USA and many Canadian cities. Black Eagle Books is committed to propagate works of our authors worldwide,” he said.
