Puri Srimandir to reopen on Aug 16

Puri:4/8/21; The doors of Shree Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri, which were closed due to the Covid-19, will reopen for devotees from August 16. The decision was taken after the meeting of Chhatisa Nijog, the apex body of the Jagannath temple priests.

“From August 16 to 20 Puri residents and servitors will be allowed for darshan while the public will be allowed for the darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings from August 23,” said SJTA sources.

A detailed SOP will be issued soon, sources added.

The Odisha government on Saturday (July 31) issued new Covid-19 guidelines for the month of August and this will remain in force till September 1.  According to the new guideline, the state government had authorized the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri to take a decision on the opening of Sri Jagannath Temple.
