Bhubaneswar:14/7/21:Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India organized a seminar on “Career Trends in Travel and Tourism”. The Nodal Officer, Dr.Md.S.Hussain spoke about converting the challenges of pandemics to academic strength by pursuing relevant courses. He elaborated on the commitment of IITTM to train quality human resources for tourism and allied services through its educational, consultancy, and training programmes.
Dr.B.Swajan, Assistant Professor spoke about the faculty, staff, and students of the institute collectively contributing to the building of an organizational culture marked by team spirit, confidence, mutual respect, and concern for others.
IITTM, Bhubaneswar is now offering admission into its two flagship programmes in tourism education: MBA (Tourism & Travel Management) and BBA (Tourism & Travel) programs in different specializations at its Bhubaneswar centre. The MBA Programme incorporates both subject-specific and generic business modules and are designed to reflect industry practices and academic development. Both courses touch upon tourism as a business activity, the organization, dimensions, social significance and impact of tourism on society. Dr. Adyasha Das, Associate Professor, and Coordinator of the program gave details of the Campus Placement activities. The institute has maintained consistently high placement records with its alumni placed across various positions in the tourism, logistics, and cargo and mice industry. Over the years students have been placed in reputed tourism and service-based establishments like IRCTC, Cox and Kings, SOTC, Orbitz, Make my Trip, Sindhu Cargo, Balmer & Lawrie and Byjus. This was followed by an avid Q/A session and ended with the vote of thanks.
