Newdelhi:7/7/21:As many as 43 leaders will take oath today as part of the Cabinet expansion of the Narendra Modi-led government. The list includes BJP’s Narayan Rane, Sarbananda Sonowal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ajay Bhatt, Bhupender Yadav, Shobha Karandlaje, Sunita Duggal, Meenakshi Lekhi, Bharati Pawar, Shantanu Thakur, and Kapil Patil, JD(U)’s R C P Singh, LJP’s Pashupati Paras, and Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel. Some MoS, including G Kishan Reddy, Parshottam Rupala, and Anurag Thakur, are also there. Sources said they may be elevated in the Modi cabinet.
Ahead of the much-anticipated reshuffle, at least twelve ministers have resigned from the council of ministers so far. Among the big names to resign include IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar.
Sources said they may be elevated in the Modi cabinet.

The reshuffle follows a protracted review exercise by the PM and the BJP top brass in a series of meetings with Ministers. These were held in the wake of the devastating second Covid wave that has set off widespread criticism of the Government for the mismanagement of the crisis. This will be the first reshuffle in the Council of Ministers by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since he assumed charge for a second term in May 2019. The name of the new 43 members are given below:
