ASI to repair Jagannath Temple during Rath Yatra

Puri, July 3: The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) will undertake the repairing work of Jagannath Temple in Puri during the ensuing Rath Yatra.

The ASI authorities have informed it to the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Friday.

According to the Chief Administrator of SJTA Dr Krishan Kumar, ASI will repair the Garbhagruha and Jagamohan of the temple during the rituals of Rath Jatra.

The repair work will be completed within three months. The maintenance project will be met at the cost of about Rs 1.5 crore, said an ASI official.

Notably, the Core Committee on temple repair had warned of critical cracks in the temple.
