Prof. Banshidhar Majhi Appointed Vice-Chancellor Of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology in Burla

Bhubaneswar:28/6/21: Odisha Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, today appointed Prof. Banshidhar Majhi as the Vice-Chancellor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), in Burla.

Prof. Majhi has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes office as such or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He is presently working as the Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kancheepuram in Chennai.

He has more than 26 years of academic experience. He has guided successfully 18 PhD scholars and 70 M.Tech and 8 M.Tech ( R) scholars. He has been awarded with Samanta Chandrasekhar Award, 2016 by Government of Odisha.

Prof. Majhi has three years of industry experience and more than 28 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. He is associated with NIT Rourkela since 1991 and presently serving as the Director IIITDM since July 2017.

He has served in various administrative positions as HOD, Dean (Academic), Chairman, Automation Cell. He has been serving as members of various accreditation committees like the NBA and NAAC.

He has guided successfully 18 PhD scholars and 70 M.Tech and 8 M.Tech (research) scholars. He has 80 research publications in peer reviewed journals and more than 150 publications in conferences of repute. He is a Senior Member IEEE, Fellow IETE, Fellow IE (India), Life Member of Computer Society of India.

He has been awarded with Samanta Chandrasekhar Award, 2016 by Government of Odisha for his outstanding contributions in Engineering and Technology.
