Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra inaugurated the 2nd National Electrical Safety Week 2021

Bhubaneswar:26/6/21: Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra inaugurated the 2nd National Electrical Safety Week 2021 here today.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Mishra said that safety is of paramount importance. He emphasized making all efforts to extend electricity supply to every household, and at the same time, electricity operators should not forget any safety measures during this COVID pandemic situation.

The Minister said that all electrical personnel engaged in availing electricity to consumers or maintaining the electrical system are really frontline warriors. government has recognized them as front-line warriors because they have to ensure a 24×7 power supply to the consumer, he added. Mishra suggested that as the four Discoms utilities are under the control of TATA, a safety training academy can be created to impart training to engineers, supervisors, and workmen. Principal Secretary Energy Nikunja Bihari Dhal who also spoke on the occasion emphasized the value of human life and those who are victimized due to electrical accidents. Bhaskar Sarkar, CEO, TPNODL, and S Gopa Kumar, Technical Expert in the field of electrical installation also spoke at the event as guest speakers.EIC (Electricity)-Cum-PCEI, Odisha Santosh Das delivered the welcome address.
