‘Bande Utkala Janani’, written by Kantakabi Laxmikant Mohapatra shall inducted in Class IX and X course

Cuttack: 23/6/21:The patriotic poem s‘Bande Utkala Janani’, written by Kantakabi Laxmikant Mohapatra, will be taught to Class IX and X student from the 2021-22 academic session.

In a notification, the Board of Secondary Education stated ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ will be included in the First Language Odia (FLO) syllabus for both Class IX and X.


Worth mentioning, last year, the Odisha Cabinet accorded the State Song status to ‘Bande Utkala Janani’.

The BSE notification further stated the reduced syllabus for Class IX and X of High School Certificate, second year and third year of Madhyama and 10th standard of State Open School Certificate course adopted for the academic session 2020-21 will continue for the academic session 2021-22.
