Bhubaneswar:18/6/21: The Odisha government today constituted a Technical Committee of experts to study Novel Coronavirus infections amongst people in the State who have completed full schedule of Covid-19 vaccination.
This needs further Epidemiological, Microbiological, Immunological, Genomic & Clinical studies for planning/preparedness of the State for possible future waves of Covid-19, a notification issued by the State government said.
As per the notification issued today, the Committee to be chaired by Director, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Dr Ajaya Kumar Parida with Director of Public Health Dr Niranjan Mishra as Member Convenor will have six other experts as members.
The other members of the Committee are Dr Sanghamitra Pati, Director RMRC, Bhubaneswar; Dr Kaushik Mishra, Superintendent, SJMCH, Puri; Prof Dr Nirupama Chaini, Prof & HOD, Microbiology, SCB MCH, Cuttack; Prof Dr MR Pattnaik, Prof & HOD, Pulmonary Medicine, SCB MCH, Cuttack; and Prof Dr Pradipta Sekhar Patro, Prof & HOD Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology, IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
As per the notification, the Committee shall study the incidence, spectrum of microbiological and clinical presentations and their outcome in suspected/confirmed break through Covid-19 during the post vaccination period.
The Committee will report its observations to the State for guidance and further action, the notification added.
