Dharmendra Pradhanl called upon the PSUs to join hands with the Government in further accelerating the vaccination drive

Bhubaneswar:6/5/21: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday held a meeting with senior management of public sector undertakings operating in Odisha.

Pradhan called upon the PSUs to join hands with the Government in further accelerating the vaccination drive in India. The meeting was attended by captains of healthcare and financial institutions and senior officials of the State Government.

The public sector undertakings (PSUs) should procure vaccines from the open market and vaccinate its employees along with people above 18 years from the civil society, said Pradhan on the sidelines of reviewing the Covid-19 management and emergency preparedness in the State.

Pradhan urged the PSUs, healthcare, and finance institutions to work in tandem with the State government in the fight against the Covid-19. He further laid stress on ramping up the health infrastructure, including enhancing the capacity of dedicated isolation beds, ICUs and beds with oxygen support.

Rajya Sabha Member Ashwini Vaishnaw, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane, Mission Director, National Health Mission Shalini Pandit, ICMR-RMRC Director Dr Sanghamitra Pati, Director of ILS (Bhubaneswar) Dr Ajay Parida, senior officials of State Bank of India, East Coast Railway, Airports Authority of India, Paradip Port, MCL, and NALCO participated in the virtual conference.
