Two litterateurs to get Akademi awards

Bhubaneswar13/3/21:: Ramachandra Nayak and Chandrasekhar Hota from Odisha won Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award 2020, the organisation announced today. Nayak was selected for Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2020 in stories genre for ‘Bana Deula Re Suna Neula’. Similarly, Hota won Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2020 for ‘Chetanara Anwesana’ in essay genre. The Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar comprise casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque of Rs 50,000.

Books of 11 Odia authors were shortlisted for the Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2020, while eight books were shortlisted for the Yuva Puraskar.

Kendra Sahitya Akademi, the nation’s National Academy of Letters, confers on authors of the most outstanding books published in any of the major Indian languages every year.
