Bhubaneswar13/3/21:: Here’s good news for school students as the State Government is mulling over promoting all the students of Class I to VIII without holding examinations this year.
In the wake of upsurge in COVID cases, all students from Class I to VIII will be declared ‘all pass’ this year too, informed State School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.
“All students from Class I to VIII will be given the class promotion without conducting examination this year due to the COVID situation. As no offline class has been held since a year due to COVID pandemic, it is not possible to conduct examinations in schools,” he said.
Last year, the Department had declared the students of Class I-VII ‘all pass’ due to COVID pandemic.
“The students of Class I-VIII were promoted without examination in view of COVID situation last year. The same method will be adopted this year too,” the Minister said.
Though formal announcement has not been made in this regard, an official notification will be released soon, he said.
However, the examination for the students of Class-IX will be held offline this year.
