Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra are adorned with Padma vesha

Puri:13/2/21: Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra are going to be adorned with the rarest Padma vesha(Lotus attire) on Saturday.

Padmavesha is held in the Shreemandir on the Pratipada( the day after the Newmoon)during the pious month of Magha(February)especially on Thursday or Saturday.

According to the Madala almanac, divine Padmavesha is performed if it falls on Thursday or Saturday.

Bada Chhata Mutt has prepared lotus buds with Kiritas(crowns) and beaks of swans made of lotus buds to mark the occasion. Those are carried into the Shree Mandir in a special procession (Patuara) in the morning today.

Shreemandir temple administration and District police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth darshan for visitors.

During Padmavesha ritual of the Lords, big petals of lotus adorn the faces of the deities in the shape of crowns. Lord Balabhadra and Lord Jagannath hold lotus buds in their hands.
